— Introduction —
This sequence is the result of a dream that came to me spontaneously in a morning between March and April 2024. I remember very well that I was calculating the multiplication table of the number 8 and the consequent digital roots.
All the process began during a deep sleep while I was completely unconscious, it brought me immediate awareness and accompanied me until I was awake and conscious, everything was so clear and intense, from the apparition of the number in the darkness up to the light of the morning. It was a very profound experience.
After this dream I spent several weeks calculating many different combinations until I finally divided the sequence into 9 squares which gave birth to this artwork. Only after I painted the artwork I found out that this table is called Vedic Square, it originates in ancient India thousands of years before the current era and there is no way I had seen it previously.
— Mathematical Description —
The numbers I painted on this square canvas are based on the multiplication table (1 to 9 from the bottom row and the first column on the left) where the result is reduced to one single digit (digital root). For example 48 becomes 3 as 4 + 8 = 12 which becomes 1 + 2 = 3. Please always keep in mind this way of calculation during the whole journey.
On the surface of the canvas there are 81 blue numbers (digital root 9), divided in 9 squares, each one containing 9 numbers. The sum of all numbers is 459 (9), and the sum of each single square is 9.
Here [Fig.1] it is possible to see how many times we have each digit under the voice “QUANTITY” and the sum of all them as “NUMBER x QUANTITY”. Let’s now look at the patterns; under “quantity” we have always 6 (6 x 6 = 36 = 9) for all numbers apart from 3, 6 and 9 which have 3 (3 x 3 = 9). Under “number x quantity”, we can see the pattern 6, 3, 9, 6, 3, 9, 6, 3, 9 where 9 corresponds only to the numbers 3, 6 and 9. The sum of each single column is always 9.
We have to keep in mind 3, 6 and 9 as they regulate all the other numbers [Fig.2]. We can also notice that the number 9 is always present in the intersections between the ruling lines and closes everything (completeness) with the upper row and right column; their sum, as well as the sum of the remaining digits, is always 9 [Fig.3].
Let’s now have a look at the lines of numbers where the sum of each single row, or column, gives the digital root 9 as result [Fig.4].

It is also important to notice that each row/column except the 3, 6, 9 is composed by all numbers from 1 to 9 arranged in different sequences.
We can now calculate the rows and columns inside each single square [Fig.5] and [Fig.6] and obtain the digital roots which give us the result of the ruling numbers in the specific configuration 6, 3, 9. The sum of them brings us always to 9.
The digital root of the diagonal of each single square from bottom-left to up-right (/) result as 5, then we must add the other squares; 5 x 3 = 15 = 6 and from bottom-right to up-left (\) each one is 1, which becomes 1 x 3 = 3. By the union of the diagonals we get 6 + 3 = 9, the number 9 is again confirmed when we add the vertical and horizontal lines and we create an eight-pointed star that crosses all squares from their central numbers [Fig.7].
If we take one number from the same position in each square, for example bottom-left, we have the same sequence repeated three times in three different orders [Fig.8], the digital root of these nine numbers is always 9.
From the graphic it is also possible to notice that the same combination is repeated one more time but in the opposite direction. It is as well very interesting to observe how this pattern behaves with the ruling numbers 3, 6, 9 [Fig.9].
These are just some of the many operations that can be performed with this table, I explain more routes on the next canvas entitled “A Poem From Cosmos”.
— Final Thoughts —
I worked on this painting in harmony with the universe by being faithful to its message and how it was originally delivered to me. The canvas is a square measuring 100×100 cm and the 9 smaller squares measure 33,3 x 33,3 cm. The representation of the purple numbers 9 inside them is composed by 54 (9) small lines and the edges are painted with 36 (9) times the number 9, the total numbers on all the surfaces are 126 and the result of all numbers is 864 which always ends as 9.
The number 9 symbolises the completion of a perfect composition, the master that has in itself all the other numbers and therefore is in the natural position of power, helped by 3 and 6.
I have to stress out that in the calculation process the real target isn’t any specific knowledge, discovery or reward, but the process itself. Here what really matters is the act of calculating and observing the table represented in the painting as a way of thinking in accordance with the law of the universe.
It is the realisation of the numerical designs and the discovery of its expressions that connects us directly with the universe and its codes of creation.
