– Behind the concept
The Era Of Aquarius is a painting dedicated to the shift which our society is experiencing. Although there is no agreement about the exact date of the shift, we have to consider it as a gradual change of season, only much longer.
The last 2 millennia were influenced by the Pisces and now we are going deeper in the Aquarius influence, where we will stay for around 2000 years. This astrological age is characterized by electricity, technological innovations, computers and the digital world; and of course water will play an important role. There will be a different perception of ourselves and nature in what could be called a more spiritual approach.
– Description of the painting
The symbol of the Aquarius is high in the canvas, representing the force of nature to which we have to adapt unconditionally, the fact that it’s not centred means that we’re still in a transitional state where the influence is not fully perceived by all living beings. The centre and the majority of the painting is composed by turbulences, like a storm in our lives and society, which is expressing these times of changes, where many of the values which were fundamental in our culture are shaking and will eventually adapt to the new reality. A small, unclear horizontal blue line above it shows quietness and wisdom still far from our sight.
