Despite the advancing technologies masses were kept in a state of ignorance for a long time. That condition was programmed to maintain the social order unaltered where the majority was submitted by the few lords in charge, it all happened until people were unaware of their power as individuals and as multitude.
In a superficial society it’s easy to manipulate the reality with a thin veil of lies.
