Once upon a time there was a man who managed to achieve everything possible in life.
Born in a poor family he was able, once adult, to develop his own company and earn a lot of money. He had a beautiful wife and amazing children, all the friends were admiring the successful man for his achievements and strengths, he was generous with everyone who would need help and he was active in many charity organizations.
Everything was so perfect, like in a beautiful dream, it couldn’t have been better.
One day, while shaving in the morning, he was thinking about some new brilliant strategy for his company when suddenly he felt a strong emptiness, it was like a terrible black hole in his chest, an unknown vortex of insecurity, of fear. Shocked by the experience he decided to spend a day on his own, he was used to face all the problems alone and wanted to sort out this issue as soon as possible, so that he could carry on with the projects.
The research was hard and took more time than expected, after struggling for a week without results he decided to visit a wise man on the other side of the world.
As soon as he he entered the small shed he was immersed in a deep sense of tranquillity, a sensation he didn’t feel for many years, it was like home. The wise man was sitting on the floor and, before he could introduce himself, told him: “I know why you are here.”
The successful man was surprised and didn’t know what to say in that strange situation.
“Please sit, if you came all the way here you are ready to find the solution to your problems. If you came here you are ready to wash yourself in the clean water, and look at the reflection of who you really are.
The ornaments don’t work anymore, your achievements don’t impress your heart anymore, your money can’t buy joy. What you own has no value.
You are looking for something special outside, but the real treasure is inside you, you found a diamond on your way, don’t waste this unique possibility.
Nature has to take its course. When you see a bird flying high in the sky, don’t forget that earlier it had to break its comfortable shell.
Now you can go, you already have what you came here for.”
